BEN Colorado: Pitch Lab’s Next Chapter Advising B2B Growth-Stage Companies

Behind some of Colorado's fastest-growing companies stands BEN Colorado, the quiet force that's helped fuel more than $8 billion in capital raises and nearly 20,000 jobs statewide. Modeled after Blackstone's renowned entrepreneur network, BEN Colorado has become the go-to catalyst for scaling businesses to shape the next generation of household names in the Rockies.

This said, I'm excited to announce that I've joined BEN Colorado as a sales advisor. This opportunity aligns with both Pitch Lab's mission and my personal desire to keep giving back to the Denver community that has been so good to me over the past decade.

Who the heck is BEN Colorado?

BEN isn’t a who, it’s a what. BEN Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs across Colorado, providing them with access to mentorship, strategic connections, and a robust community of experienced business leaders. Founded by a coalition of leaders including Amy Stursberg (Blackstone Charitable Foundation), Senator Michael Bennet, Attorney General Phil Weiser, and philanthropist Brad Feld, the organization has helped fuel more than $8 billion in capital raises and created nearly 20,000 jobs statewide.

What makes BEN Colorado particularly special is its focus on second-stage and scale-up entrepreneurs—those who have moved beyond the startup phase and are poised for significant growth across industries like technology, aerospace, energy, healthcare, and consumer goods.

The Power of BEN’s Advisor Network

The heart of BEN Colorado is its advisor community—experienced business leaders who have "been there and done that." These advisors are carefully matched with entrepreneurs based on specific challenges and growth objectives, ensuring relevant and actionable guidance.

The network operates on a "give-first" ethos, something that resonates deeply with me. Advisors are known for clearing their calendars to support entrepreneurs, reflecting a deep commitment to the success of Colorado's business community.

Why This Matters (to Me)

If you've followed Pitch Lab's journey over the years, you know that giving back to the business community has always been part of our DNA. Whether through our workshops, open mics, or conference sessions, we've been committed to helping salespeople and entrepreneurs differentiate from the competition and win more deals.

This commitment to community has taken many forms over the years—from leading sessions at Denver Startup Week and mentoring at The Commons on Champa, to supporting TEDxMileHigh and empowering members of Women Who Startup. Each of these experiences has reinforced my belief that when we help others, we strengthen the entire business ecosystem.

When I left my corporate job almost 10 years ago to start Pitch Lab, I couldn't have imagined the journey ahead. There have been plenty of ups and downs, but it's moments like these—being invited into a community of Colorado's top business leaders—that remind me it's all been worthwhile.

What This Means (for You) Moving Forward

Through this role, I'll be working closely with second-stage and scale-up B2B founders across various industries. These companies aren't just starting out—they're at that critical inflection point where the right guidance on sales strategy, team development, and accountability can mean the difference between steady growth and explosive success.

I've seen firsthand how impactful strategic sales advisory can be for growing companies. Earlier this year, I wrote about my work with Goodie Bag during their pre-seed stage, helping CEO Eddy Connors build a sales approach that's already yielding impressive results. This experience reinforced my belief that the right sales guidance at pivotal growth moments can transform a company's trajectory.
